Aqui você tem a visão da miserável Terra e seus pequenos homens observadas pelas variáveis e imutáveis nuvens. Elas observam a janela de um trem parado. Ela está aberta. Eu apareço dentro do retângulo que a demarca no comboio. Eu falo pouco, e não repito algum bordão como um papagaio habitualmente faz. Não penso ou explico. As imagens, pessoas ou situações passam por mim rapidamente e, naquele breve instante, apenas existe uma atração simultânea e inexplicável.
Alguém como você poderá ver alguma conexão, mas saiba que ela é somente sua. A velocidade não permitiu que eu refletisse. E quando o fiz, foi com aflição: a pressa é uma inútil tentativa de evitar a morte? Ou, talvez, deixá-la registrada para Richard Francis Burton redivivo, dizendo:
“Você me lembrou, ainda que brevemente, outro viajante que conheci, que sempre queria chegar lá, não importava onde fosse lá. Como conseqüência, ele perdia tudo o que estava à sua volta na ocasião.”

Here you have the vision of the miserable Earth and its small men, which can be observed by variable and immutable clouds. They observe the window of a stopped train. It is open. I appear inside of the window frame, which is part of the convoy. I speak little and do not usually repeat words like a parrot. I don’t think and neither do I explain anything. Images, people or situations pass quickly by me, causing, at the same time, a simultaneous attraction, although, without explanation.
Somebody like you could find a connection, but this is no doubt, your opinion. I was enabling to reflect because of the speed. When I did so, I felt distressed. Is rush a useless attempt to avoid death? Or should we leave registered the sentence for a revived Richard Francis Burton, who said:
